1968
  • Ferrofluidics founded for the purpose of developing commercial applications for Ferrofluid.
1970s
  • Ferrofluidics patents the Ferrofluidic® magnetic liquid seal for rotary applications.
1980
  • Working with Ferrofluidics, Nippon Ferrofluidics is founded in Tokyo, focused on the import and sales of Computer Seals, Vacuum Seals and Ferrofluid.
1982
  • Completed Chiba plant (Currently Chiba Technical Center) in Yokaichiba-city, Chiba-prefecture.
1989
  • Completed Kamaishi plant (Currently Ferrotec Precision Corporation) in Kamaishi-city, Iwate-prefecture.
1992
  • Established Hangzhou Dahe Thermo-Magnetic Electronics Co., Ltd. in Hangzhou, China, focused on the assembly of Thermoelectric Modules.
1995
  • Established Shanghai Shenhe Thermo-Magnetic Electronics Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China, and started producing of Thermoelectic Module material.
  • The company name is changed to from Nippon Ferrofluidics to Ferrotec Corporation.
1996
  • Ferrotec is registered on the JASDAQ.
1997
  • Ferrotec Corporation Singapore Pte, Ltd. is founded.
1998
  • Established Ferrotec Quartz Corporation in Tokyo.
  • Separated the Kamaishi plant as Ferrotec Precision Corporation.
1999
  • Established Hangzhou Dahe Precise Parts Co., Ltd. in Hangzhou. China.
  • Ferrotec merges with Ferrofluidics Corporation.
2001
  • Acquired Isawa Tsushin Co., Ltd.
  • Forms a business alliance with the Komatsu Group. Forms a business alliance with Amerigon Inc. (U.S.)
  • Relocated the corporate headquarters to Tokyo Chuo-ku.
2002
  • Acquired Technosilicon Corporation.
2003
  • Acquired Telan® series of power generation systems from Teledyne Energy Systems.
2004
  • Acquired Advanced Fluid Systems, Inc. (AFS).
